With Valentine's Day coming up, I propose we make it a day to celebrate love for everyone in our lives, not just romantic relationships.
Take the time to let someone you love know how much they mean to you.
We express our feelings to others everyday but we can sometimes forget to express them to the people who matter the most. We presume they feel the love we have for them. We express our gratitude for them often in our heads, or to the universe but we can neglect to say the same words to the person they're meant for. To the person they matter for. Feelings can be difficult to express at the best of times but especially when they're so precious. We're crippled by fear. Fear of them being shattered, or of shattering ourselves in our vulnerability. We protect ourselves with layers of emotional armour, guarding our desires, fears, most precious dreams and loves. We do this in the delusion and hope that things will stay the same and that people will know how we feel. I'm taking off my armour today to let one of the most important people in my life know how preciously guarded they are in my heart. My Mum.

Me age (approx) 3 and my gorgeous Mum.
Dear Mum
I wouldn't be here without you, literally and figuratively. I exist, because you exist. I am a reflection of you, an extension of you.
I am so grateful for all you have done for me and I want you to know how loved you are by so many. We are better people, for having you in our lives...
You've spent your whole life looking out for and taking care of others. Now is time for you! If there is anyway to repay you, to show my love and gratitude, for all you have given me, I give it all. You were there for me when I fell and grazed my knees, when I had my heart broken for the first time, when I made bad choices and to share in my joy. You are the most kind, loyal, thoughtful person I know. You are gentle, considered, graceful, patient and caring. From you I have learnt kindness, strength, gratitude, wonder, compassion, equality, to never judge, deep gratitude, self-care, respect, the importance of family, to work hard, to never give up, true love, how to be a woman!
You are the best friend anyone could have. I am so lucky and proud to call you my Mum. Thank you for everything!
I love you.
xx Weeze
