Meet our Bodhi Babes Wonder Woman #BBWW
Ebonie Allard - The Entrepreneur Enabler
When you were a little girl, what did you want to be when you grew up?
When I was little I wanted to be something different all the time. I wanted to be me, and I wanted to be free and have fun. I also have a memory of hearing about an interior designer my dad was working with at the time and thinking her job sounded cool – I would walk around with a copy of Elle Decoration, flipping the pages and saying “Yah, so we’ll have one of those there, and this here, ooooh yes and one of these in that corner.” It was only years later when I worked as a set decorator, and was telling props dressers where to put furniture that I saw the link up.
What do you do now? For work? For fun?
I coach and consult freelancers, business owners and entrepreneurs on how to have 360 degree fully rounded lives where there is time for work, rest and play. I am all about self governance, accelerating adventure, catalyzing connection and magnetizing money – creating space for people and myself to feel a real sense of belonging!
Work for me is fun, as is going off on adventures, learning from other coaches, trainers, teachers and people living their lives fearlessly. I love to walk in the woods near my home, cook food and eat with friends and I love getting my hair done at the salon, it is one of my great pleasures in life!

How did you get into your area of expertise?
I have lived the hell out of my life, and so that kinda qualifies me, ha ha… It also means that nothing can surprise or shock me, and I have no judgment - just empathy when people share their stories with me.
I also have been a freelancer, business owner and entrepreneur all of my life– sometimes successfully, sometimes disastrously! I’ve done a lot of personal development work and explored all sorts of modalities, and then in April 2013 I decided to get a formal and internationally recognized qualification in Coaching – mostly so that I had a system by which to measure my craft and to hone what I already knew intuitively.

What obstacles have you faced in following your dreams and how have you overcome them?
Oh gosh, so many! But if I boil all the obstacles down to their essence they were and are all about fear or uncertainty and my answer to overcoming any situation is to learn more. In every situation there is something to learn, if we approach it all with an attitude of curiosity and as little attachment to outcome as possible it all becomes an adventure! If you are up against an obstacle, step back – someone else has been somewhere like this before too, how can you learn from them? What book, anecdote, You Tube video, Blog or Podcast might teach you something right now? Grow your container SO BIG that you can overcome anything!

What’s the best part of what you do?
Really seeing and hearing people tell their stories and find themselves.
What advice do you have for other women who might want to follow suit?
I don’t like to give advice, but I love to ask questions “What it your WHY? What are you passionate about and why does it matter?” When you know your WHY, remind yourself of it everyday and the tough days become a challenge not a chore!

What’s your morning routine?
I’d love to tell you that I am up with the lark making green juice, meditating and doing rounds of sun salutations, but the truth of the matter is it entirely depends on the individual circumstances of the day. I’m not good at mornings in the winter and will forgo any wellness activities for extra snooze time and a bucket of coffee… In the summer I find that it takes less effort to be kind to myself and bounce out of bed with a zing. I do always do a half hour of setting my intention for the day and doing a physical, intellectual, emotional and spiritual check in before going on twitter or Instagram to see who’s awake…

3 things that are on your ‘to do’ list today?
Finish list for my VA
Client session
Go out for a friend’s birthday tonight!
What are you working on at the moment? Next project?
So, I am about to head out to Bali for a 10 day retreat with Mastin Kipp and then I am spending a week writing my book – no name yet, but will be part story, part manifesto, part how to…
One woman you admire and why?
I admire every woman who listens to and acts from her heart. It takes courage to be yourself, to stand up for what you believe in, to not know what you believe, to choose to listen and act with love and compassion. I admire every single woman who makes decisions from her heart and models responsible self governance.
Three wishes?
For the writing of my book to be effortless and the reading of it to be accessible and engaging – is that 2?
For everyone in the world to feel a sense of belonging.
That I get into a groove with exercise again as I seem to have fallen off the wagon, and I love it when I’m in the zone!
Who do you turn to for advice?
My dad, my friends, my twitter followers.

I am very privileged to have one of the best groups of peers and friends a woman could ever ask for.
