"Life is a terminal condition! We're all going to die. But how many of us will truly live?" - Kris Carr

Meet New York Times and #1 Amazon best-selling author, wellness activist and cancer thriver- Kris Carr.

Kris is a self-proclaimed "Wellness Warrior". Since being diagnosed with a rare and incurable stage 4 cancer in 2003, she has been an activist for wellness and cancer prevention.

"My wake-up call encouraged me to make a total lifestyle upgrade inside and out. It taught me how to listen to my brilliant inner guide, brought me back to nature (my church), the garden and kitchen (my pharmacies), and connected me more deeply with the people and animals who set my heart ablaze. I learned that a nutrient dense, plant-passionate diet rules, the Standard American Diet destroys (everything), stress sucks (all life-force), exercise is non-negotiable (great for your head, heart, cells and ass-ets), joy is utterly contagious, and having fun must be taken very seriously."

I wholeheartedly agree with Kris and her approach to living a full, well life. We can have a huge positive impact on our health and wellbeing by being mindful of how we feed ourselves. Being mindful of food, thoughts, stress, exercise and generally taking care our bodies is key to living longer, healthier lives. We are constantly fundraising for cancer research to find a cure for cancer, should we be spending more time and money looking at prevention?

Can we feed ourselves well?

Kris is living with stage 4 cancer, some Doctors gave Kris up to 10 years to live... almost 12 years later she is truly thriving.

Webster's definition of medicine:

"The science and art, dealing with the maintenance of health and the prevention, alleviation, or cure of disease." Food acts as medicine, to maintain, prevent, and treat disease."

The food we eat gives our body the nourishment it needs to survive. Without enough good food our cells are unable to function fully, our bodies can begin to fail and the risk of disease increases. Diseases such as arthritis, diabetes, heart disease and cancer. Read more about how food impacts our health here:
